Below is the housing rent table as well as other details which pertain to financial expectations.  This is the monthly rent for living in the Fraternity house.  We attempt to make it simple to understand.  Please read this information carefully. As a member of AKL you are required to live in the house. The length is determined by the resident count the previous semester.

House lease FAQ

  1. All prospective members of the Beta Psi chapter of AKL must commit to residing in the fraternity house by signing a lease during pledgeship.
  2. If a prospective member does not complete pledgeship, the lease is voided and the individual is released from any requirement to move into the chapter house.
  3. No prospective member of AKL will go through initiation (a.k.a.“go active”) until they have:
  • Paid their first month’s rent
  • Paid their security deposit
  • Moved into the chapter house

  • Important consequences dates if rent is overdue:
    • 10 days late: Late Rent Demand Posted on Door ($20 fee)
    • 15 days late: 10% Late Fee Added to Omega Fi
    • 20 days late: Immediate Payment/Eviction Demand Posted on Door ($100 fee)
    • 25 days late: If resident hasn’t paid or vacated, eviction enforced (resident responsible for attorney’s fees and other costs)
  • July 31, 2016: As an organization, on this date we will have the choice to renew our lease at 1043 E. Cherry for another 1-2 years or to end our lease and move out. It is not too early for chapter to start evaluating its alternatives and decide if it wants to stay put, or look at other options. If the membership decides it wants to move, finding a new residence location will be up to chapter leadership.
